NEXIM Bank Disburses N40bn Finance From Jide Orintunsin in Minna Nigeria Export and Import Bank (NEXIM BANK) has disbursed over N40 billion credit facilities in the last one year to promote export of locally manufactured goods and services. The Managing Director of the bank, Alhaji Baba Yusuf who made this disclosure in Minna, Niger State during a chat with newsmen said the bank was committed to providing life line for all goods and services leaving the shores of the country. Yusuf who failed to give the number of individual beneficiaries of the facilities, however said that unlike in the past, the number of participating banks for the NEXIM rendering exports credit rose from five to thirty two. He attributed the low interest regime of his bank on all its facilities to the increase of participating exporters, as well as federal government commitment to export and opening up market for locally produced goods and services. The NEXIM boss stated further that the bank was poised to reducing the difficulties exporters face in financing their business. Adding that non-accessibility of credit facilities and the high interest rate by commercial banks have been removed by the establishment of NEXIM bank. Yusuf said that the bank will be ready to finance any exportable goods and services and then advised exporters to cash in on the facilities of the bank and help in to develop the sub-sector as well as the economy On federal government's cassava exportation drive, NEXIM boss said that the bank was part of the committee put in place by government saying "The bank will be ready to avail credit facilities to those interested in the venture".
