Organisers of this
year’s Nestle Milo Secondary School Basketball Championship, Central
Conference, Tuesday in Abuja disqualified the Plateau State female team for
cheating.
Daily
Independent gathered at Mogadishu Barracks, venue of the sports fiesta
that Plateau female team was found guilty of fielding an ineligible player.
Our source revealed
that the eventual winners of the event, Benue, had filed a protest alleging
that one of the players from Plateau had already graduated from the school
and therefore not eligible to
feature for the school.
Daily Independent gathered that on investigation, it was discovered that the
allegation was true, and the officials wasted no time in sanctioning the state.
