NISER, CMD, Manpower Boards Dissolved From Cletus Akwaya in Abuja Federal Government has dissolved the boards of four parastatals under the National Planning Commission (NPC). The dissolution which took effect from June 17, affects the Nigerian Institute of Economic and Social Research (NISER) Ibadan, Centre for Management (CMD), Shagisha-Lagos, Development National Centre foe Economic Management and Administration(NCEMA), and the National Manpower Board. In a statement yesterday signed by Mr. W.M. Kurawa, Director of Administration, NPC, the boards have been replaced by Administrators and named Mr. Ohifemen Aikhoje, Director of Infrastructure and Public Utilities Department in the Commission as Administrator of NCEMA to oversee the process of the merger of the parastatal with CMD. It also named Dr. Tom Miashi, Director, Agriculture and Industry in the Commission as the Administrator of National Manpower Board to oversee the merger of the parastatal with NISER while Mr. O. Akande, Deputy Director in the Commission as the Acting Director of the National Data Bank to oversee the process of the merger of the department with the Federal Office of Statistics. The statement directed that the handover of the affairs of the parastatals should be completed by June 25, while the former chief Executives should report to the Commission by June 28, after handing over The NPC requestd the Administrators to "retrieve all government property in the possession of the members of the board as well as liaise with the Technical Committee set up to harmonise the merger of the parastatals."
