Fayose Orders Staff Audit Report Implemented Ekiti From Dipo Okunmuyide in Ado-Ekiti Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, has ordered the immediate implementation of the recent staff audit carried out by his administration in order to stem the menace of ghost workers. At a meeting with civil servnats in Ado-Ekiti yesterday a part of the ceremony marking civil service week Fayose said the full implementation of the report of the staff audit will save government about N33 million monthly. Fayose subsequently directed the Acting Head of Service Mrs Nike Adeyemo, and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Mr Oluwole Ariyo, who were present at the meeting to effect the implementation of the audit report from this month. The governor who described welfare of workers, including regular payment of salaries and allowances as one of the priorities of his administration described the existence of ghost workers as a major drain pipe in the state's resources which must be blocked at all costs. He warned that his administrationwill not compromise indiscipline, saying "anybody, including commissioners found wanton, will be removed." He commended the NLC for co-operating with his government, saying there is no point for the congress to fight against his administration sinc he has been satisfying workers. Fayose disclosed that he has paid N200 million out of N333 million arrears of gratuity inherited from the past administration.
