Govt Rejects Accusation of Non-performance ENUGU Enugu State government has hit back at the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for accusing it of non-performance, saying that Governor Chimaroke Nnamani's administration has performed above average. APGA through its gubernatorial candidate, Chief Ugochukwu Agballa accused Nnamani of non-performance, noting that despite over N23 billion of federal allocations received by the state in the past one year, there was nothing to show in terms of infrastructural development and improvement in the lives of the people. But in a swift reaction, Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Chief Ayogu Eze, contradicted APGA's position, pointing out that the governor has performed beyond expectation and even a blind would feel the heat of the government's above average performance. Eze in a statement noted that APGA's 's criticism was borne out of malice, advising that those who seek relevance by criticising government should act within the ambit of good conscience. Describing the PDP government in Enugu as a performing administration, the commissioner said that the government has recorded a monumental achievement in the past one year and was presently executing multi-billion naira projects that would transform both the health and educational sector. He cited the multi-billion naira permanent site of the State University of Science and Technology, which would be ready in 2006 as well as the teaching hospital of the institution to be completed in the next six months. He added that ESUT's permanent site is the most modern and ambitious university campus on the African continent.'
