Unilorin SUG President Begs for Pardon Kwara From Tunde Sanni in Ilorin President of the dissolved student union government (SUG) of the University of Unilorin, Comrade Segun Madamori, is believed to have sent emissaries to the institution's authority, pleading pardon. Madamori was among the 18 students expelled following their alleged culpability in the March 16-18 disturbances which sent the students on three month inter-semester break. Investigations reveal that the expelled students leader has been making overtures to certain high ranking officials in government expressing regrets over the incident. Madamori has also approached the police command boss, Alhaji Muhammadu Dikko Abubakar expressing remorse over the incident. In a letter dated June 1, the SUG president said the last "Unilorin crisis in my own estimation is highly regretted. "I am indeed very sorry as I do not mean to embarrass your person or command as I have long ago maintained very close contact with you during my brief attendance of the police/students committee meetings." "He added, "the good impression I had about the police was roughly interrupted by the information I received on the mini campus protest."
