Ex-Unilorin ASUU Leader Dies Kwara One of the 44 sacked lecturers at the University of Ilorin, Dr. Samuel Ajayi is dead. Ajayi, a member of the coordinating committee of the ill-fated Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) national strike, died on Friday after a protracted illness. Family sources claim that the don died of acute hypertension and diabetes. Until the face-off between the local ASUU and the institution's administration led by former Vice Chancellor, Prof. Shuaib Oba Abdulraheem, Ajayi was in the forefront of the strike which later terminated their careers.
