FG Sets Up Committee on Disposal of NCC Property Real Estate By Dan Ede The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Elder Odion Ugbesia, has inaugurated the committee on disposal of the property of the embattled Nigeria Coal Corporation (NCC). The six-member committee, which has Dr. Siyan Malomo as its chairman, is expected to submit its report within 30 days. The committee's terms of references include: verification of NCC's landed properties, valuation of the land proposal for sale, recommending to the Federal Government the implementation of revocation order on leasehood agreement on NCC properties that were wrongfully issued out and how to retrieve them, sourcing for buyers, and remittance of the sales proceeds to the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development. Others are: recommending to the ministry and the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) the method of disposal of identified assets to be sold; and submission of a comprehensive report to the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development and the BPE on the outcome of sale. Elder Ugbesia also inaugurated the Committee on Staff and Salary Verification of the parastatals. The committee's terms of references are: to determine the exact staff strength of NCC, to determine the demographic profile of each staff, to determine the veracity of the salary arrears being owed to each staff, and monitor the settlement of the outstanding salary arrears.
