Impeachment: PDP Officers Reconcile Abia Factions From Chinedu Eze in Abakaliki Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State, Dr. Chigozie Ogbu and officials of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the South East have continued in their bid to reconcile the Deputy Governor of Abia State, Dr. Chima Nwafor and the State House of Assembly, which recently served him an impeachment notice. Dr. Chigozie Ogbu, who attended the reconciliatory meeting with the Abia State House of Assembly in Umuahia, expressed hope that the House might soft pedal in their intent to impeach the Dr Nwafor. At the end of the closed door meeting, the Abia Deputy Governor, told reporters that he had always been an advocate of peace and was hopeful that the misunderstanding would be resolved before long. Addressing the media, the South East zonal chairman of PDP, Nze Ozichukwu Chukwu, stated that the governments and people of the South East were committed to the attainment of peace in the zone. He said people of the South East could disagree on issues based on their republican nature, but as traditionalists, they had always been their brothers' keeper.
