Lagos to Build Resource Centre for Varsity By Shaka Momodu Lagos State University (LASU) will soon get a world class Resource Centre that will provide the students with a conducive environment to enhance career development. This disclosure was made by the State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu while receiving a delegation of the institution's collegiate Jaycees in his office. The governor stated that the centre will transend the narrow confines of a cyber cafe to impact on the users more effectively. Tinubu said by providing such back up institutions for the use of the students, they are more able to tap into the vast opportunities that the Information Technology age presents to an average young man or woman. He said the time give opportunity to youth's was now since they will inherit the mantle of leadership, adding that democracy must, carry the youth along. While urging Jaycees and other organisations to be more actively involved in development of their environment, the governor said the campaign against cultism must have students in its vanguard to promote sound culture. He said by living a life of perseverance, determination and consistency many of them will become the shining example for both students in the university and in secondary schools around. He urged them to be more involved in their community by developing an interest in secondary schools around and support various programmes within the schools so adopted.
