FG Spends N6.6bn on Gombe Roads From Saka Ibrahim in Gombe Federal Government has spent N6.6 billion on federal road construction in Gombe State. The Minister for Works, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, who disclosed this when he paid a courtesy call on the State Governor, Danjuma Goje, at the Government House, said more roads would still be constructed by government in the state depending on the available resources. He added that about N132 million had been disbursed to the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA). Said Ogunlewe, "I have inspected all the federal roads in the state since our arrival. I have also visited 23 states in the country on a similar mission." The minister stated that he embarked on the state tour in preparation for the construction of additional roads in 2005. The governor commended Federal Government for spending a lot of money on road construction, provision of water and electrification , projects in the state, saying government should do something about the Gombe-Biu road, which had been abandoned by the contractor since 1999.
