Group Wants Kinsman As Dikibo's Replacement From Amby Uneze in Calabar As the search for a candidate to replace the late Chief A. K. Dikibo, former National Vice Chairman, South-South Zone of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) hots up, youths from his riverine area in Rivers State have warned against choosing a person from a different area to replace him. Dikibo, who was described by his acquaintances as a dedicated and peaceful gentleman was killed early this year by people yet to be identified on his way to attend a meeting of the party in Delta State. Riverine Youths Movement (RYM) and Eastern Delta Union (EDU) said since the position of the National Vice-Chairman, South-South was occupied by their late son (Dikibo) who was alleged to have been killed by "an in-house arrangement", such position should not move away from them at least for now. THISDAY checks revealed that the governor of the state had after the burial of late Chief Dikibo constituted a committee to select a possible replacement for the late National Vice-Chairman. The committee which has finished its assignment, THISDAY further gathered, was influenced by the governor, for the selection of the his Adviser on Lands, Chief Ake to replace the late politician. This arrangement, according to a reliable source, has angered the people of the riverine area, especially the youths, who want to stage a protest if eventually their own person was not chosen for the replacement. The statement said "This position has been occupied by the riverine people from Chief Harry Marshal to Chief A.K. Dikibo and since all were killed, the leadership of the party should assuage the people by giving them the opportunity to appoint a replacement."
