Benue Crisis: Dabo Faults Senate's Report On Ayu From Cletus Akwaya in Abuja A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) from Benue state Godwin Dabo 'Adzuana yesterday described as " totally irresponsible, malicious and unjustifiable", the alleged indictment of Minister of Internal Affairs, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, by the Senate Adhoc Committee on the political crisis in Kwande local government of Benue state. Daboh who spoke with newsmen in Abuja said he got a copy of the report four hours before it was presented to the Senate by Senator Iyabo Anisulowo, Chairman of the Senate Adhoc committee on Benue crises adding, having studied the report, none of the testimonies of the various people invited to appear or make submissions before the committee was indicted. The National Assistant Auditor of PDP( North Central zone) tendered a copy of the report to newsmen to justify his position that Ayu was not indicted in the 51 page document neither was he mentioned as a "stakeholder" in the entire crisis. In the report sighted by THISDAY, the committee had on page 49 under the subhead -"observation (xi)," stated that "the crises were fuelled by sentiments shared by leaders of the ANPP(Paul Unongo) on one side and (Iyorchia Ayu) the PDP." But faulting the alleged indictment of Ayu, Daboh maintained that " in the whole report made of 51 pages, no where was Dr. Ayu mentioned as a stakeholder in the crisis from p.1-48. The stakeholders who met with the committee include the Commissioner of Police, Director of SSS, Speaker, Benue state House of Assembly, the Tor Tiv, the State Chairman of the ANPP and the State Chairman of the PDP.
