Gov Ibori Loses Mother From Jaiyeola Andrews in Asaba Madam Oji Ibori mother of Delta State Governor, Chief James Ibori is dead. She was aged 88. She died yesterday morning in her home town Oghara in Ethiope West Council Area of the State during an illness. She was a devout christian, community leader, and a philantropist. Speaking to THISDAY after the news broke yesterday in Asaba, the secretary to the state government (SSG), Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, said Madam Oji was a nice woman to him. According to Uduaghan, late Oji Ibori instilled in him the tenet of discipline, right attitude to one's endeavour and humility. Also commenting on her death, the Senior Special Asisstant to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Mr. Abel Oshevire said; " mama was such a loving mother, caring and interracted so warmly with all members of the Governor's household, including those of us who worked closely with him". Besides paying glowing tribute to the late governor's mother, Oshevire also noted that even at 88, she recognised everybody by name. Oshevire further stressed that late Ibori while alive, imbued on his son, Governor Ibori the leadership quality service needed for development".
