JAMB Won't Be Scrapped - Osuji Education minister, Professor Fabian Osuji has reiterated government's decision not to scrap the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), pointing out that the organisation will continue to exist as the body conducting entrance exam into the tertiary institutions in the country. Osuji disclosed this while answering questions from newsmen yesterday in Abuja. The minister's clarification came on the hills of speculations that with the reintroduction of Higher School Certificate (HSC), JAMB would cease to exist. Osuji noted that the reintroduction of the Higher School Certificate (HSC) was due to stakeholers concern about the low intellectual quality of students admitted into the tertiary institutions. He emphasized that JAMB was till very much relevant and would conduct a standard exam for everybody to at least streamline the number of students that would be getting into tertiary institutions.
