Plateau: Clerics Demand Apology from Obasanjo From Hammed Shittu in Osogbo Christian leaders yesterday insisted that unless President Olusegun Obasanjo tendered unreserved apology for public assault on the chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Plateau State, Rev. Sam Pam, peace would continue to elude the land. This was the submission of two divisional overseers of Foursquare Gospel Church of Nigeria, Rev. Zacheous Omotoso, Osogbo District and Rev. Elkannah Oluwagbesan Sango-Ota at Mount Zion, Oraife zonal headquarters at the weekend. According to them, "it is not rights for President Obasanjo to be insulting the anointing man of God and he must apologise for blessing and peace to flow upon the land." They said: "President Obasanjo, if truly is a Christian should seek forgiveness because he has assaulted the whole Christian leaders with his public utterances unto Rev. Sam Pam." Their words "Christian leaders are not happy with President Obasanjo for that kind of insult on CAN leader." They stated that, Obasanjo should come before the public and apologise to Nigeria Christian leaders. Omotoso and Oluwagbesan also called on the politicians to learn how to address man of God so as to move the nation forward, saying the president should note that "it is the prayers of Nigerians and religions leaders that is sustaining his government and should find out time to address them anytime.
