A/Ibom Signs N1bn Golf Deal From Efem Nkanga in Uyo As part of its avowed promise to boost tourism in the state,the Akwa Ibom state Government has signed a one billion naira contract for the construction of a golf course in the state. The contract was signed in Uyo by the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry,Mrs Akon Eyakenyi on behalf of the state government,while Mr Miquel Cabrera of Jardin Drive Associates signed on behalf of the project contractors. The contract which is part of the state's five star project is to be completed in 15 months. Mrs Eyakenyi called on the project contractor to ensure speedy completion of the project and said that the project once completed would position the state as one of the the best tourist centres in the world. The Commissioner also stated that the five projects will be completed in a year's time precisely by the end of August.She commended the state governor Obong Victor Attah for his industrializational strides. In his remarks at the occasion,the state Attorney General, Barrister Bassey Dan Abia described the contract signing as a demonstration of the state's government determination to complete and commission the five star hotel before the end of Obong Attah's tenure. The Managing Director of the project contractors,Mr Cabrera pledged to ensure a timely completion of the project to justify the confidence reposed in the company.
