Omisore at National
Assembly, keeps mum on travails

Detained for about 11 months and acquitted
last Friday on charges of murder, Senator Iyiola Omisore (Osun East, PDP),
surfaced at the National Assembly, keeping mum over his travails but thanking
all those who stood by him.
Omisore, whose seat was not declared vacant
at the Senate, exchanged pleasantries and banter with his colleagues and
friends who congratulated him on his freedom.
He however refused to give in to pressures
from journalists to comment on his travails. “I have no comments for now.
There will be time to talk about these things but I thank Nigerians for being
by me all this while,” he said.
Omisore who is the Vice-Chairman of the
Senate Committee on Federal Character and Inter-governmental Affairs, visited
some principal officers as well as his office where he was welcomed by
enthusiastic aides.
