Chikelu tasks broadcast industry on new initiatives

Information and
National Orientation Minister, Chief Chukwuemeka Chikelu, has challenged the
Africa broadcast and video industry to design new initiatives in line with
modern broadcast trends and technology.
Speaking on Monday
in Abuja at the opening of a two-day Third African Intelsat Communication, he
charged Africa broadcast owners and video experts to learn about the strategy
and initiatives of the broadcast and video solutions so as to be well equipped
for improvement.
Chikelu, who was
represented by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Alhaji A. D Gidado,
also urged stakeholders in the industry to be ready to learn from advanced
broadcast industries and make improvements.
In an address, the
Executive Director, Programmes of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Mr.
Peter Igho, said content programme transmission in the broadcast industry can
only be achieved through improved technology.
