How Iwuanyanwu Nationale climbed Premiership table

Gabros
International football club of Nnewi came to Owerri last Sunday and became the
proverbial needle through which Iwuanyanwu Nationale as the Carmel found very
difficult to pass until the 80th
minute when substitute Ikedinachi
Nwakanma scored the only goal of the match. This goal shot Nationale to the first position on the
Globacom/premier league table
hitherto occupied by
Dolphin.
The centre referee,
Kaduna based Abidoye Bola was a stumbling block between the Naze boys of Coach
Alphonsus Dike and the three
points as she frustrated all goal bound moves of the home team.
However, the two
teams proved their meetle as the match became explosive and tension soaked.
Officials of both teams were all standing issuing instructions to the players
through the first and second stanza of the game.
Shouts could be
heard from Gabros handlers telling his boys how to contain mesmerising attacks
of the trio of Paul Obiefule of Nationale while Coach Dike and Ufere Nwankwo
were equally shouting from their own corner giving instructions on how to
penetrate the defence of Gabros. At this point, it became the coaches game as
both went back to pool to draw stategies for winning the action parked
encounter.
Although Nationale
won the day at the end, Gabros never allowed them a breathing space in the jam
parked Dan Anyiam Stadium.
