OAU Students Protest Non-Release of Results Osun From Hammed Shittu in Osogbo Students of Obafemi Awo-lowo University (OAU) Ile-Ife, Osun State at the weekend frowned at the attitude of the institutions authorities not to release their last semesters examinations results six months after they had written the examinations. This was confounded in a statement issued by the Students Union Government (SUG) signed by its Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr Peter Olowokande and made available to THISDAY in Osogbo weekend. The students added that, "the poor welfare conditions on campus and non-payment of their lecturers attendance have become a serious to the overall development of reader excellence on the University. They stated that, these ugly situations should be addressed by the authorities so as to boost the admirable living and learning conditions of the university. The students who used the avenue to correct the allegation of disrupting the piece of the university by the authorities, Mr. Olowokandi stated that, there was never a time the students embarked on my act capable of creating the peace on the campus. They said that, 'we have written several letters to the authorities on the need to rise to their demands but to no avail." Mr Olowokandi added that, "instead of embracing dialogue, the authorities embarked on blackmail and malign of students which made us to give them ultimatum on the demands." He then declared that, "the peaceful protests of Wednesday October 20 and Thursday 21, 2004 was used to confront the vice-chancellor, Prof. Rogers Makan-juola with their demands and the clean mismanagement of the university and we had not held the vice chancellor hostage as being alleged."
