JORA, JASS Fuse, to Hold Seminar Lagos Two rival revenue collectors, Joint Revenue Association (JORA) and Joint Accelerators Association (JASS) have settled their differences and fused into one to avoid collection of multiple taxes from the public. At the same time, the new body has scheduled a seminar for this month. Now to be addressed as JORA, the groups said in Lagos that the action followed a joint meeting where they resolved their differences. In a communique issued at the end of the meeting, "all members have resolved to work together as one indivisible body in the name of JORA." The communique was jointly signed by JORA President, Chief Gabriel Ojoba, his JASS counterparts, Chief Innocent Ihunda, JORA Secretary General, Otunba Mike Eboziegbe, Chief Ben Nwafor, Mr Nnamdi Ogbogbo and Mr. O. J. Nyenke. Meanwhile, Eboziegbe added that to concretise the merger, a seminar on "Against Multiple Taxation" would hold between November 5 and 7 in Asaba, Delta State capital. According to him, lectures on evils of multiple taxation would be delivered at the seminar, where he said, about 500 delegates from the local councils and Joint Tax Board (JTB) are being expected. A major highlight of the seminar is the launching of this year's national clearance document, which he said, would not be sold to members of the public but given free alongside other documents as soon as the required fee is paid.
