NEPA Chief Reaffirms FG's Resolve to Stem Corruption

Chairman, Anti-Corruption Crusade of National Electric Power Authority (NEPA), Mr Abiodun Olotu, yesterday reiterated the commitment of Federal Government towards making all sections of NEPA corruption-free to enhance the growth and stability of the authority.
Abiodun disclosed this in Osogbo, Osun State capial during the inauguration of Anti-Corruption Committee of National Control Centre (NCC), Osogbo station.
According to him, "the management of NEPA is seriously worried at the way the staffers of the authority have been engaging in act of corruption which hitherto eaten deep in the organisation."
He said "corruption, transparency and anti-customers behaviour in NEPA has resulted into the poor performances of the authority."
Abiodun added that "that is why the NEPA management has swung into action towards embarking on anti-corruption crusade so as to boost the economic growth of the nation."
He stressed that Osogbo NCC is the key operation of NEPA establishment in the country because everybody in the country depend on the centre."
The chairman noted that "the staffers of the centre should ensure that they complied with the rules and regulations guiding their operations and refraining from any act capable of tarnishing their image."
He then pointed out that staff "should be committed, trustworthy and honest to their job and ensured proper maintenance of equipment, keeping of files and avoid taking bribes on duty."
Also speaking at the ocasion, NCC General Manager, Engineer Maurice Iyoha, stated that corruption has impoverished people from blessings to poverty.
He added that "it is a sin that must be wiped out in the society so as to move the country forward."
While appealing to the staffers of NCC to avoid being corrupted, Iyoha called on the staffers to support the anti-corruption crusade of NEPA in order to boost its operation and economic growth.
