Lawmaker Raises Alarm over Blackmail Imo A member of Imo State House of Assembly, Prince Ngozi Ogbu, has raised an alarm over an alleged plot by some government officials to blackmail him and compromise his integrity. Prince Ogbu who represents Okigwe State Constituency told newsmen in Owerri that the said officials have concluded plans to circulate a phantom photographs of him and some women in compromising postures. According to him they plan to use computer technology to graft the pictures in such a way it will appear that he had anything to do with those women. He noted that those officials who lost elections recently were angry with him for supporting Senator Ifeanyi Araraume who single handedly ensured the election of Barrister Mike Ohia as member elect for Okigwe North Federal constituency. Prince Ogbu who was Chairman of Okigwe Local Government averred that since his rising political profile had become intimidating the officials were no longer comfortable with his presence, hence this latest blackmail. He said in as much as all of them belong to the ruling PDP, most of those officials worked against the interest of the party during the Federal elections. He called on his supporters to ignore whatever blackmail materials the said officials might dish out in the name of dirty politics. He also reassured them that he would continue to protect the interest of Okigwe people irrespective of the posturing of those he described as political charlatans and failures.
