FRIDAY , NOVEMBER 5, 2004   RAMADAN 23, 1425 A.H.           Strike paralyses service at courts Litigants, who turned up in courts in Nasarawa state on Monday, went home disappointed as the nationwide strike, embarked upon by the Judiciary Staff Association (JSA), commenced. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that some of JSA members, who turned up for work, were sent back by association officials. Speaking with newsmen, the local JSA chairman, Mr Simon Kauna, said members in the state had no option but to join their colleagues because the issue of welfare had direct bearing on their lives. According to him, JSA members are demanding, among other things, a unified judiciary service salary structure. The association rose from their meeting in Awka, Anambra recently with a 21-day ultimatum for government to implement the said salary structure or risk their industrial action.
