FRIDAY , NOVEMBER 5, 2004   RAMADAN 23, 1425 A.H.           CYD coordinator wants disease, poverty eradicated From MUSTAPHA SAYE, Kaduna KADUNA state coordinator of Community Youth Development (CYD) Hajiya Rabi'at Ahmad Sufyan has called on all and sundry to assist towards eradicating disease and poverty in the state and country at large. Speaking shortly after donating relief material worth N77,000 to the orphanage at Igabi local government areas of the state Hajiya Rabiat said as an NGO (CYD) has a lots of programmes which specifically were designed to complement government effort towards reducing unemployment among youth as well as giving training to youth on various crafts and trades. She explained that for the last three year of its establishment, her NGO had gone far, saying that right now it has sponsored five youth into a tertiary institution to further their education, adding that her organization had also collaborated with Poverty Alleviation Programme where two people were sent to learn some skills in various ministry or the state. She enumerate some of the projects executed by CYD such as construction of two class rooms at Igabi local government, donation of food stuffs to a less privilege of medical facilities in some hospital, among others.
