Post Master General of the Federation, Alhaji Musa Argungu said yesterday that the Nigerian Postal Services (NIPOST) was making concerted efforts aimed at meeting the expectations of its customers nationwide. In view of this, he said the organisation was working to ensure that the quality of its products and services are improved in addition to the provision of necessary equipment that would enhance its activities. Speaking at the flag off of NIPOST Service Compact with All Nigerians (SERVICOM) awareness/enlightenment campaign, he noted that "it is also the quality of everything that surrounds the product and involves among other things, shorter waiting time, simple procedures, a customer counseling service, functional facilities, easy access to sales points, quality of service, speedy processing of inquiries, clean environment and good customer management". Argungu affirmed that NIPOST was working towards creating a conducive atmosphere in all the post offices nationwide while maintaining that within the past three years, 200 post office buildings across the country were renovated while others were equipped with modern entertainment gadgets. "NIPOST is one of the institutions which have performed creditably well as evidenced in the report, "Delivering Service in Nigeria: A road map" produced by Wendi Thompson of the office of Public Servicein the United Kingdom for the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The report gave birth to what is today known as SERVICOM", he said.
