Uwua Recruits New Players For Insurance
PREMIER League club Insurance of Benin is to recruit 15 "high quality players" to strengthen the squad for the new soccer season.
Chief coach of the team, Godwin Uwua, disclosed to Kick Off that the proposal towards actualising this has already been submitted to the club's owner and sponsor, the Edo State government.
He expressed the confidence that the players to be drafted into the team, "will put us in top gear to meet the challenges of the new season where we are expected to play a continental competition - the CAF Confederation Cup."
Coach Uwua commended the Edo State Governor, Lucky Igbinedion, for "the massive support he has been giving to the team, and I must say that we are grateful to him."
He added:" The Governor is more than a master and friend to me. He is like a brother, and our relationship has been enhanced since he took a chieftaincy title in Gboko, Benue State, about two weeks ago.
"The Governor was kind enough to take me on his entourage for the chieftaincy title award .While we were in Benue State, he visited my house, with the State Governor, George Akume. It is this very positive relationship we have built that we are carrying to the new season for the advancement of Insurance."
