Man charged with theft of land papers One Aliyu Shehu Dan-Maigana has been arranged before an Abuja Chief Magistrate Court for theft. The accused person is charged with a three-count charge of criminal conspiracy, theft and criminal misappropriation and contrary to sections 97, 287 and 309 of the penal code law. According to the First Information Report (FIR), a former minister of foreign affairs, Buhari Bala, reported that the accused person sometime in January 2002 committed theft of land allocation papers No. FHA/OCE/GWA/LEM/61 in respect of plot No. 61, 1st Avenue Gwarinpa Estate, Abuja belonging to the said Buhari Bala. The FIR further stated that the accused person conspired with others now at large to misappropriate the property by disposing of it to an unsuspecting victim named Ogwangie Vincent, a staff of foreign affairs. The accused person who was not represented by any legal counsel denied the allegations.
