No fewer than 51 students of the Nasarawa State College
of Agriculture, Lafia have been expelled for various offences
from 1999 to date.
Provost of the College Malam Muhammad Baba Idris made this
revelation in a chat with Daily Sun weekend, saying that the
break-down of the figures indicate that 33 students were expelled
in 1999 two in 2000/2001, seven in 2002, four in 2003 and
only five in 2004.
According to Baba Idris, the figure remains unsteady because
many students of the institution have learnt to abide by the
law, noting that there was no case of cultism ever reported
to him since he assumed office five years ago.
He added that there has never been student uprising in the
school in the last five years in the college.
On the staff welfare, Malam Baba Idris explained that there
was no single staff in the college that had not attended in-service
training, as their salaries entitlements and allowances are
adequately paid and as when due.
He, however, lamented the dismissal of 11 staff of the college,
for flouting the laws of the school, adding that only 20 staff
received queries, while few of them have their salaries withheld
for three months for committing various offences.
Meanwhile, a multi-million naira Educational Trust Fund (ETF)
project is going on in the State College of Agriculture
Provost of the College, Muhammad Baba Idris while conducting
