DANKWANO & HASSAN MUHAMMAD THE death of a veteran educationist, Alhaji Barau Dambatta has been announced at his Kofar Nassarawa quarters residence after a protracted illness. Late Alhaji Dambatta died on Friday night and his funeral prayer was conducted by the Chief Imam of Kano, Alhaji Idris Kuliya Alkali at the Emir's Palace last Saturday. The Emir of Kano, Alhaji (Dr.) Ado Bayero led the senior emirate council members who included senior council members, Alhaji Abbas Sunusi, Sheikh Isa Waziri, Alhaji Tijjani Hashim, the Galadima of Kano, Alhaji Mukhtar Adnan Sarkin Bai, the Emir of Kazaure, Alhaji Najeeb Hussaini Adamu, prominent Islamic scholars and top federal and state civil service officials. Late Dambatta died at the age of 119 years leaving behind three wives and 39 children, among whom are, the permanent secretary federal ministry of transport, Alhaji Nu'uman Barau Dambatta, Alhaji Mahadi Barau, a businessman and Hajiya Atika Barau former principal, Government Girls Secondary School, Kachako. Meanwhile, hundreds of sympathizers have been trooping to the residence of the deceased in the Kano municipality among which are the District Head of Dambatta, Alhaji Mukhtar Adnan, Dokajin Kano and District Head of Makoda, Alhaji Halliru Galadima, Danmasanin Kano, Alhaji (Dr.) Yusuf Maitama Sule, Alhaji Sule Gaya and Alhaji Shehu Ringim among others.
