FG donates N40m relief to victims of Plateau crisis

From sChristiana Gokyo Jos,

Plateau state Sole Administrator, Gen. Chris Alli (rtd) has received N40 million worth of building materials from the federal government as relief materials to victims of the recent crises.

The administrator also warned people who divert relief materials meant for the victimes to decist from the act or else face the wrath of the law.

The administrator while receiving relief materials on last week said there were some speculations that such materials for the internally displaced persons (IDPS) were found being sold in some markets in the state.

Officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) presented the relief materials to the sole administrator and the presentation was the fourth in the series of donation by the federal government to alleviate the sufferings of the victims in the state.

The materials presented to the administrator included 2,200 Bundles of roofing sheets, 2,400 bags of cement, 200 packets of nails, and 6,000 pieces of various sizes of planks.

Others were 2,000 pieces of mattresses 2,000 pieces of metal beds, 2,000 pieces of pillows, and 2,000 pieces of mosquito nets.

The administrator appreciated the gesture by the federal government and for its concern and support to the state, explaining that the gesture indicated government commitment towards ensuring the speedy resettlement and rehabilitation of IDPs.

He then appealed to the beneficiaries of the donation not to sell the materials out but use them judiciously for their livelihood.

Chief Relief officer of NEMA, Mr. Mike Adeyanju who represented NEMA Director said the donation was in fulfilment of the vice presidents promises to provide more to the victims.
