MONDAY , NOVEMBER 8, 2004   RAMADAN 26, 1425 A.H.           Medical personnel told to treat patients with compassion By BINTA IBRAHIM MEDICAL personnel working in the nation�s health institutions have been advised to treat their patients with love and compassion. The advice was given by the head of department of phisiotheraphy at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) Mr. Philip Kudzo, the induction ceremony of the 2002/2004 phisiotheraphy graduants. According to him, medical personnel are expected to practice their profession with patience, tolerance and humanity. He also advised them not to consider the nationality, race tribe or social status of their patients. Dr. Kudzo however said phisiotheraphy was now the best option for treatment adding that the side effects of drugs as well as their adultration have now made them contemptious. Speaking at the registerer of the institution Mr. J.D. Jogonola who performed the sweering ceremony called on the graduants to be of good behaviour. In his remarks at the occasion the chief medical director of AKTH, Dr. Abdulhamid Isa Dutse, congratulated the graduants, and advised them not to indulge in any strike action during their interim programme. The ceremony was attended by the Dean faculty of medicine Dala Orthopeadic hospital staff and increase of AKTH as well as patients and well wishers of the graduants.
