IN an effort to understand the origin of certain musical
aptitude, Professor Cart Seashere, an associate of the University of Iowa
conducted pioneer research that separates musical capacity into various
elements parts i.e pitch, tune, canoness and rhythm tone memory. They are
divided into a series of grammarphone; achhored to test individual
abilities. The test defends on the way one perceived the art of music and
its attendant entertainment.
Music is both entertaining to the listeners and those
that are put forth to promote the art. It is also concluded in all respect
that the issue of music is so essential and also fundamental to the day to
day activities of the people.
It is also believe that whether one inherits music or not
his natural talent is very important in the speed at which he can progress
and reach a certain level in the business. And this is one of the things to
be considered.
Another research by Amiran Scheirfiele reported in his
book "You and heredity" equally confirms the influence of heredity in
musical talent. He asked the following questions about musical artist.
* Were the parents musically talented?
* Did brother and sister show musical talent?
* Did their children show musical talents?
After compiling the answer for his total 122 musical
families Schiersfiel reasons as follow:-
If musical talent is producd by genes it should be
evident or clear that the children of musicians should show or rather be
more talented, in issues related to music, than those that did not inherit
it. So heredity is very important here.
If one parent is musically inclined and the other one is
talented this means that the children that come from this family will be
more creative and talented.
After reviewing the result or statistical compilation he
concluded that the result shows a convincing evidence that hereditary plays
a dominant role in producing great musical talent.
On the other hand one may appreciate the fact that Athur
Rubisten, the former planist came from the home where no member of his
family played a musical instrument.
Is intelligence inherited or ascribed?
Many people do not believe that once a particular parent
is talented the children that follow must also be talented.
In other words, intelligence is more or less like a
commodity that must be strived by a person before he could get it. So no
amount of heredity can give some body a free gate to be intelligent. One
must work for it. Is just like the main issue of education, one cannot be
educated simply because of his or her parent is educated. This is something
that you must stand up struggle for it and get it. You just cannot sit-down
and be waiting for intelligence to come and be part of you without any work
towards it. For the simple analysis above we can understand that
intelligence is more an ascribed issue than a hereditary thing.
Where behaviours but not intelligence correlates or
rather be closed to thing of hereditary, is when you talked of twins you
will see that when twins somebody might called siblings, are born, you will
find that their attitudinal behaviour almost the same. The way one behaves
the other one will also behave the same way.
