WEDNESDAY , NOVEMBER 9, 2004   RAMADAN 28, 1425 A.H.           Babura wraps women delegates with wrappers BABURA local government council in Jigawa state, had purchased and distributed bundles of wrappers to women in the area. Speaking, while distributing the materials to the women delegates in their respective wards, Alhaji AbdulRasheed, said the council decided to purchase the wrappers in appreciation of the impressive turn out of women during election periods as well as subsequent electioneering campaigns. He said that women in the area had contributed their own quotas towards realising a sustainable democracy. The vice-chairman advised them to make good use of the items donated to them re-affirming the determination of the council to provide more incentives that will improve their civil condition. In her speech, the councillor for health, Hajiya Abu Bala Babura, expressed appreciation with the council's zeal to advance the condition of women folk. She commended the Jigawa state governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Saminu Turaki, for introducing numerous policies and programmes aimed at uplifting the living standard of women in the state. Hajiya, Abu Bala who is also councillor representing Maichirinbi ward, assured that the items given will be used judiciously. The occasion was attended by the supervisory councilors of Babura, development area Alhaji Mohammad Ibrahim Dankayi, Babura that of Kanya-babba development area Alhaji Idris Usman Kuzunzumi, and Alhaji Hashimu S. Bariki (Dan-Gwamna) for Jigawa development area.
