WEDNESDAY , NOVEMBER 9, 2004   RAMADAN 27, 1425 A.H.           Ekwueme heads to Stoke City Super Eagles star Ifeanyi Ekwueme is set for trials at English outfit Stoke City, a top agent has told www.kickoffnigeria.com.   Www.kickoffnigeria.com has already exclusively reported that Ekwueme has been blacklisted from the Eagles by NFA top shots until he finds another club after Polish club Wisla Plock cancelled his contract in the summer for overstaying his holidays.   And now respite is coming his way at Stoke who are 13th in the 24-team English Championship with 24 points from 18 matches and already have one Nigerian on their books, Ade Akinbiyi. "Ekwueme is heading for Stoke City for trials and we hope to seal a deal soon," top agent Richard Umejei told www.kickoffnigeria.com yesterday. "Stoke are an ambitious club with various international players from other countries, they have a great stadium and good management. And this move will ensure his career is back on track again." Ekwueme would move to England as a free agent if he impresses during his trials.
