WEDNESDAY , NOVEMBER 9, 2004   RAMADAN 27, 1425 A.H.           Emir�s Cup goes national: Kano GRASDO seeks financial support By ADO SALISU GRASSROOTS Soccer Development Organisation (GRASDO) has concluded arrangements to stage the maiden edition of the national youths soccer competition tagged �Emir of Kano, Alhaji (Dr.) Ado Bayero Cup� scheduled to hold early next year. The state GRASDO chairman, Alhaji Garba Abdullahi, announced this yesterday shortly after the association�s emergency meeting. According to him, the association resolved to host the national championship in Kano, as part of the its efforts to assist government towards the overall development of sports especially football. �We have just concluded the state finals of the Emir of Kano soccer championship and with the support from wealthy individuals, the dream of hosting the national championship will come true. �The association needs the financial support of wealthy individuals towards executing the championship which 36 states and Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja are expected to take part ,� the chairman explained. Alhaji Abdullahi, however, said that the association would very soon release more details concerning the championship to the general public.
