The Eagles' midfield linchpin disclosed from his base in London: "I'm now injured and that is why I did not play my Premiership game last weekend. And I do not know how long it will take this injury to heal and so there is no need risking it." On whether he will be available in South Africa to give morale support to his colleagues in the international friendly, he said, "I will have to discuss that with my club and the FA. If they agree, why not?" Jay Jay strained his groin during training and missed Nigeria's last World Cup match against Gabon in Libreville last month. He is currently nursing a calf injury which he suffered while training with his English Premiership club Bolton Wanderers last week and so missed his team's weekend 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough. Nigeria has already been hit by several withdrawals ahead of the November 17 friendly in honour of former South Africa President Nelson Mandela.
