TUESDAY , NOVEMBER 9, 2004   RAMADAN 27, 1425 A.H.           China ready to work with Nigeria to consolidate relationship -- Bangguo The Peoples Republic of China is ready to work with Nigeria to consolidate the relationship existing between the two countries. Mr Wu Bangguo, Chairman of China's National Peoples Congress standing committee, said this in a statement on arrival in Nigeria on Saturday. He said the two countries had supported and cooperated closely with each other in international affairs. ``The Chinese side is ready to work with the Nigerian side, in the spirit of sincere friendship, reciprocity, mutual support and orienting towards the future, to consolidate and deepen our mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields and constantly push forward the China-Nigeria relationship,'' he said. He said that Nigeria had continued to play a unique and positive role in resolving African conflicts through mediation, promoting integration process, enhancing South-South cooperation, facilitating North-South dialogue and other regional and international affairs. Bangguo said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations 33 years ago, the relationship between the two countries had been growing smoothly. Bangguo, who arrived at 6 p.m. aboard an Air China aircraft with registration number B2472, in the company of his wife, was received by Senate President, Chief Adolphus Wabara his wife, Felicia, and other principal officers of the senate.
