Congrats, Bush the
butcher!
The lustrous
fanfare and the rigorous brummagem, which accompanied Americas political
campaigns have come and gone, but its rippling effect will linger
on for a long time to come. Even more so that George W. Bush won. It
showcased the unpredictability of American people and their democracy. It
could be likened to a mystery cocooned in a conundrum spiced by a
puzzle.
George W. Bush of the
Republican Party won by an eventful and unprecedented 51 per cent with 3.6
million numerical superiority. His party also was victorious in the House
of Representatives and the Senate. It was indeed a clean sweep
notwithstanding tensions in the swing state of Ohio and Florida. We say
congratulations Mr. George W. Bush. The American people have spoken and
there lies the beauty of democracy.
But Bushs mendacious conduct
of Americas foreign policy as it relates to the Middle-East, Iran, Iraq,
Europe, North Korean and Afghanistan shows that the American people do not
read about and know much of what is happening outside their country.
America witnesses the greatest unemployment statistics in forty years. The
issues of Gay marriages, homosexuals, abortion, Health Scheme, and all
played key roles in swaying the voters.
But the lies and diversionary
tactics of Mr. Bush in literally taking America to war in Iraq over the
apocryphal stands that there are Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) in
Iraq, and that Saddam Hussein had links with Al queda did not bother the
American voters. That their president is a sadist and a psychotic liar did
not bother the American people.
He used the scourge of the
fear of terrorists and terrorism to bamboozle and hoodwink the American
people. It is clear that George W. Bush has committed a heinous crime
against humanity in his genocidal atrocities in Iraq etcetera. We only
pray and hope that his warmongering propensities will be put on hold in
his second tenure. He has killed too many Americans in Ira and
Afghanistan.
We salute the courage of
Senator John Kerry for his statesmanship in conceding defeat, the
Democratic Party for shared values and focus. We admonish them to start
preparing for the 2008 elections immediately. We ask President Bush to
remember that he now has a date with history. He has to remember Africa,
peace, HIV/AIDS, poverty, disease, restructuring and the empowerment of
the United Nations, for these are the legacies that will enthrone him into
the conquistadorial pantheon of history. We hope Nigerian and nay, African
leaders have learnt a lesson or two from American-styled
democracy.
