FG declares today public holiday The federal government has declared today and tomorrow as public holidays to mark this year’s Id-El-Fitri celebrations. In making the announcement on behalf of the federal government, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu congratulated Muslims at home and anbroad as well as foreign friends who are resident in Nigeria. Dr. Ayu urged all Muslims to emulate the exemplary attributes of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon Him) amongst which are tolerance, love and peaceful co-existence between all people. The Minister urged all Nigerians irrespective of their religious beliefs, to use the occasion to pray for the peace, unity and progress of our great country, Nigeria.
