Adamu Tafawa Balewa dies at 85 A member of the Board of Trustee of the ANPP, and a former deputy governor of Bauchi state, Alhaji Adamu Tafawa Balewa, is dead. Adamu, who was the Ajiyan Bauchi, died on Wednesday in his residence at the age of 85. The deceased served as deputy governor of the state under the platform of the defunct NPN from 1979 to 1983, and was also a commissioner in the defunct north-east. He contested the 1999 gubernatorial election under the platform of the ANPP and lost to the incumbent. Adamu left behind three wives and relations. He has no child.
