2007: Youths tell Mande to forget governorship dream From Salisu Zakari Maradun, in Gusau The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Youths mobilization committee, Zamfara state chapter has advised the minister of environment, Colonel Bala Mande (rtd) to forget his dream of becoming a governor of the state come 2007. In a statement which was signed by the state secretary of the committee, Alhaji Salisu Musa, a copy of which was made available to Daily Trust, the group said Bala Mande had abandoned his People Democratic Party (PDP) supporters who supported him during his period of trial. The statement alleged that since Bala Mande was appointed as minister there was never a time he availed himself to the people who made him what he is today. Alhaji Salisu Musa further expressed dismay over the attitude of the minister, who is allegedly always hiding himself in order not to see the people “whose mandate he is occupying the office of the minister.” “This man has been avoiding all the PDP supporters, particularly youths who sacrificed all their energies and even, lives to see that he clinched the throne of the governorship in the last 2003 election,” said the statement vowing that “no power on earth can make Bala Mande to be a contestant not to talk of becoming a governor.”   NEXT.....
