The Vice-Chairman, House Committee on Small Scale Industry, said the consensus in the zone was to run for the slot in 2011, having been considered for projects and appointments by the incumbent governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel. In an interview with Daily Independent in Abeokuta, Akinlade identified the performance of the governor in the areas of infrastructure, employment generation and rural medical services as worthy of continuation. �You will agree with me that a four-year-tenure single term is not enough to execute the programmes of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)in the state.
