S/West, 2 Other Zones Pledge to Attend ANPP Maidugiri NEC Meeting

The South-south, Southwest and Southeast zones of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) have said that they will attend the unity National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party slated to hold in Maidugiri, Borno State November 27 and 28.
The three zones also pledged their continued loyalty to the National Executive Committee of the party led by the National Chairman Chief Don.
Etiebet.For the Southwest in a statement made available to THISDAY and signed by Zonal Chairman, Alhaji Bode Abdullahi, Prince Bola Ogun, the Zonal Secretary and Alhaji Y.O. Olanipekun, the Zonal Publicity Secretary said that the "zone recognizes as the authenticity of NEC of the party led by Chief Don Etiebet as produced by the 2003 National Convention of the party, because it was affirmed by the National Caucus and the Board of Trustees meeting recently."
In this regard, the zone said that it could only attend the meetin called by the NEC under Etiebet in line with the constitution, which is supreme to any other organ of the party.
Accordingly, the Southwest zone therefore disassociated itself to the meeting called by the Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the party, Alhaji Gambo Magaji stating that already the Chairman of the Board of Trustee, Admiral Augustus Aikhomu has said that the Joint BOT/NEC meeting will not hold because he is outside the country for medical treatment.
In the same manner, the Southsouth in a communiqu? of their meeting signed by Dr. Asoquo Nya, Chairman Cross River State, BarristerGentleman Amegor, Assistant National Welfare Officer, Enobong Jimmie Ex Officio officer, Ekpenong Ntetim, State Chairman Akwa Ibom, Dr. Benite Ugboko, National Assistant Organizing Secretary, Comrade Ben Meg Godson National Assistant Youth Leader, Osaro Onaiwo, Delta State Chairman, Hon. Ubong Etiebet Dep Minority leader, House of Representatives, Nnamdi Nwokoro, National Assistant Publicity Secretary, P.D. Iyamah Edo State Chairman, Enobong Ette, National Assistant Legal Adviser among others, they pledged their loyalty to the Etiebet led NEC and said that they will attend the Maiduigiri NEC meeting, as it is properly constituted.
The Southsouth and Southwest group called on those described as agents of destabilization to desist from their action, as ANPP as presently constituted remains the only credible alternative.
Meanwhile, the governor of Kano State, Alhaji Ibrahim Shekarau on
Tuesday held closed door meeting with the leader of the faction, General Jeremiah Useni on how to ensure unity in the party.
The meeting which took place at the Kano State Government Lodge, he Kano Governor called on Useni to attend the Maidugiri meeting as all his grievance would be addressed.
Also, Useni was told not to allow the party to be destroyed external
influences of those who are not members of the party
