AD alleges plot to attack Oshiomhole, others COSMAS EKPUNOBI ALLIANCE for Democracy (AD) caucus in the House of Representatives has alleged a plot by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to precipitate the condition for emergency rule in Lagos State. The lawmakers also alleged plot to attack some Labour leaders. The caucus in a two-page statement signed by its chairman, Hon. Wunmi Bewaji also accused the Federal Government of financing the recent violence in Anambra, Enugu, Ibadan and Akungba, Ondo State. The lawmakers alleged a grand plot by the ruling PDP to perpetrate conditions for emergency rule in Lagos State. According to Hon. Bewaji, the South-West leadership of PDP with the alleged connivance of the Presidency has hatched a plot to use the occasion of the planned nationwide strike to create chaos and confusion in Lagos. Hon. Bewaji also alleged that principal actors in the plot were selected at a meeting in Ikorodu, Lagos on Thursday. "The plot is to recruit and mobilise thugs and hoodlums to cause fracas in the city, attack and burn down Lagos State Government vehicles and buildings, including the State government secretariat," he alleged. According to him, certain Labour leaders including the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) president, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole are allegedly billed to be silenced. The lawmakers further alleged that the said operation is to be personally supervised by a particular PDP chieftain and the police have been briefed to provide logistic support for the operation."
