MONDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2004           BUK chief Imam advises Muslims THE chief Imam of Bayero University, Kano, sheikh Abubakar Jibrin, has admonished Muslims to imbibe the teachings of Islam as taught and practiced by the holy prophet Muhammad (SAW). This was contained in a sermon he delivered shortly after he led Eid-el-Fitr prayer at Bayero university old site praying-ground, Friday. According to him, the prophet taught his companions how best to deal with their relations neighbours and other nationals saying, that the prophet SAW in this regards was quoted as saying" the best of you, is he who is good to his family. On the fear of God SWT, the chief Imam stated that the ingredient to the observance of the aforementioned attributes, the fear of God simply means following his commandments as taught and practiced by prophet Muhammad (SAW) bearing in mind that he is the only one to do so. Sheikh Jibrin, further advised the Muslims to take care of the weak, like the widows, orphans, oppressed among others and by so doing one is taking into practice the teaching of the holy month of Ramadan. On unity, the Islamic scholar called the attention of the entire Muslims to holdfast the rope of God and keep away the culture of sowing the seed of discord among the Muslims.
