Continue to pray for KNSG, Rano urges students

By SHUAIBU SANI BAGWAI

THE executive secretary, Kano state Scholarship Board, Alhaji Muhammad Lawan Saji Rano, has appealed to Kano state students undergoing studies at various institutions of learning across the country to continue to pray for the state government to ensure its successful deliberations.

Alhaji Rano made the appeal in a chat with Daily Triumph in his office recently, stating that this became imperative considering the concerted efforts being made by the government to release substantial amount of money for the payment of students allowances regularly.

He charged that they should always utilise the amount given to them in a proper channel so that a desired objective would be achieved, urging that they should concentrate upon their studies and should avoid anything capable of tarnishing the image of the state.

The executive secretary further contended that through the scholarship board, the state government would continue to provide funds for the settlement of students allowances as due process.

He added that recently the state government has released the sum of N57,562,000 to the board for the payment of the old students allowances, the exercise which has since commenced.

According to him, students of about four schools have already collected their allowances before the Sallah celebrations; they included Aminu Kano School of Legal Studies, Audu Bako College of Agriculture, Danbatta, University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) and Usman Danfodio University of Sokoto (UDUS), while the remaining students of higher institutions would be paid after the Sallah celebrations.

He explained that about N4 million out of the amount was paid to students of Aminu Kano School of Legal and Islamic Studies because of their large numbers.
