MONDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2004           Shekari wants muslims foster neighbourliness THE acting governor of Kaduna state , Engineer Stephen Shekari has called on the musilms in the state to practice what the month of Ramadan teaches them especially in their attitudes and motives towards their neighbors. �Are we better neighbours than before? Are we more considerate of others than before? Are we more generous towards those who are not so materially endowed? He asked, saying only an affirmative answer to the above posers would mean the lessons of Ramadan have been imbibed. He made the call in his Eid-el-fitr message to the people of the state, noting that relative peace has been enjoyed in the state as a result of the efforts of government, security agencies, traditional communities and religious leaders of JNI and CAN. Shekari acknowledged the sensitive nature of the divine assignment of religious leaders as teachers of faiths and charged them to endeavor to teach love and understanding to their followers, not hatred,but peaceful co-existence and not antagonism, but respect for others not. The acting governor cautioned the people to simplify their life styles in these trying times and live within their means while making honest efforts to improve their lot, as� the get-rich quick� attitude contribute significantly to insecurity.
