MONDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2004           Strike remains last resort THE vice chairman of Nigerian civil service union (NCSU), Kano state branch, comrade Idris Ibrahim, has said that strike remains the only great weapon to emancipate the oppressed masses from injustice. In a chat with newsmen in Kano yesterday, the vice chairman, said that since the sit-at-home strike to warn the government yielded no passive result, the workers have no option other than to go on strike tomorrow. His words: �inability of the lawmakers to sponsor bill that would face the federal government to reduce fuel price, can be seen as total failure on their side, likewise the traders who did not join the early strike have themselves to blame". Comrade Idris, further said that the president�s gesture to reduce kerosene price was not enough to solve the problems being faced by the masses, rather it can open doors to unpatriotic citizens to engage in unclean business by mixing up kerosene with petrol.
